“Carved Vase 1” by Fred Mintert

“This is my first finished pot after a 20 year hiatus in wheel throwing. I enjoy how the blue and white glaze break over the midfire dark red clay body. It was carved after being thrown on a wheel during the two week ice and snow storm we had a few weeks ago. I started throwing pots again in January so I could teach it to my junior high students, and “I have rediscovered how enjoyable the process of wheel throwing can be.”
