Stop by one of your favorite local haunts for a very special Spooky Makers Market on September 13, 10am-6pm, located on the third floor of the Cornell Complex! Explore a curated collection of handcrafted treasures created by Spiva member artists and artisans. No tricks here, only treats and fall fun for all!
A wide range of artforms including jewelry, ceramics, textiles, fiber art, paintings, and candles will be showcased. The public is invited to meet these members of the Spiva family, discuss their stories, and browse their incredible handmade works made right here in Joplin, Missouri – just in time to kick off spooky season!
“Makers Markets at Spiva are a fantastic time for member artists to sell their wares and connect with Joplin’s art community. They offer a unique opportunity for the public to discover their new favorite local artists and support them directly,” says Kearstin Mattox, Director of Engagement at Spiva Center for the Arts. “The Spooky Makers Market is a creative way to lean into the changing seasons while also celebrating our multitalented members – their work never fails to leave us in awe.”
Mattox adds, “Spiva Memberships for Working Artists are $40 for the whole year. We offer several opportunities for members to get their work out to the public, including our annual Membership Show happening soon, and even selling in the Spiva Gift Shop. If you’re a local artist or art patron and have been on the fence about joining, the fall season is a perfect time to become a Spiva Member. We’re really looking forward to having you join the Spiva family!”
