This exclusive live demonstration is held in conjunction with Jeffrey C. Legg’s deeply personal homecoming exhibition. Jeffrey C. Legg: Alchemy of Light & Shadow, on view from August 23 to October 25, 2025, marks a major milestone in Legg’s acclaimed career. The exhibition invites viewers to explore his masterful use of light and shadow—a dialogue that shapes our perception of memory, emotion, and the visible world. This exhibit also presents an opportunity to obtain highly collectable original pieces, as well as limited addition prints of Jeff’s work.
Concurrently with this event, Spiva Center for the Arts is hosting Watercolor USA, the nation’s premier water media exhibition. On view from August 23 to October 11, 2025, this marks a historic move for the exhibition, which is being presented outside of Springfield, Missouri, for the first time.
The Harry M. Cornell Gallery will also present Foundations of Light: Early Works by Jeffrey C. Legg, exhibiting August 23 to October 25, 2025. This special exhibition offers a rare glimpse into Legg’s artistic journey, tracing the evolution of his masterful use of light, shadow, and realism from his youth and academic training.
Catalogs are available in the Spiva Gift Shop for Jeffrey C. Legg: Alchemy of Light & Shadow as well as Watercolor USA. DVDs of a workshop by Jeff Legg are also available for purchase in the gift shop.
