Art can play an integral part of taking care of your mental health and wellbeing. Spiva spent World Mental Health Day on Friday, October 10th, with free community activities in our galleries, curated by Education Director Des Hernandez, Spiva Intern Ellie Wheeler, and Spiva’s new Art & Wellness committee.
We strive to provide a space for the community to create, connect, and celebrate the power of art together. The goal isn’t to be perfect – just to be present and take some time for yourself.
Activities included bracelets, watercolor + ink zentangles, and watercolor postcards. Surrounded by Watercolor USA and Jeff Legg’s artwork, the afternoon was the perfect spot to make new friends, support one another, and create something in a low-pressure environment.
