JRAC: Liminal Spaces & Thresholds

The Joplin Regional Artists Coalitions turns their attention to thresholds both literal and psychological: the physical architecture of passageways and the internal architecture of transition, uncertainty, and becoming. Waiting rooms, borders, the pause between an inhale and what comes next. Each work asks what it means to exist in a space defined not by what it is, but by what it connects — the space you pass through on the way to somewhere else, which somehow becomes a destination of its own. 

Liminal Spaces & Thresholds invites viewers to linger in discomfort, to notice the strange stillness of in-between places, and to consider their own lives as a series of thresholds crossed, half-crossed, and still approaching.
